Three new projects have been launched at Southcraig School in Ayr giving youngsters a unique opportunity to learn practical schools.

Mary Kilpatrick, depute provost of South Ayrshire, visited the school earlier this month to celebrate the latest launch with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Ayrshire.

Three new projects were launched - Sunshine Café, Market Garden and Marvellous Makers - to give young people an opportunity to gain vocational qualifications and learn practical skills.

Children at Southcraig School will now be able to gain experience in barista training through the new Sunshine Café barista project, funded by DYW Ayrshire.

A polytunnel has been funded by the organisation to teach horticultural skills as part of the new Market Garden project, and pupils can also take part in crafting activities and learn new skills through the Marvellous Makers project.
