A NEW business is set to open its doors in Ayr this week - after taking over a shop that's been lying empty for seven years.
Scott Lambie, who has been trading online as Oakholme Interiors, will open to the public at 17 New Bridge Street from Wednesday, March 6 at 12 noon.
The shop has previously been used as a tattooist, hair salon and a kitchen studio, but has been lying empty since 2017.
Scott, who will be selling mirrors, wall art and canvas prints, hopes his new business can get the support of the Ayr public this week.
He said: "It is my first shop and business, and I have been trading online for nearly six years now.
"I sell mirrors, framed wall art and also just recently I have started selling canvas prints created from photographs that I have taken from over the past ten years on my travels around the UK.
"In terms of the refurb, my landlord has recently just finished completely renovating it top to bottom, right back to the bare brick, and replastered it, rewired it, new flooring and spotlights in the ceiling.
"The front of the shop has also recently been repainted from dark blue to dark grey as well. It now has a very modern and up to date look to it."
After the opening day on Wednesday, the shop will be open from 10am to 6pm Wednesday to Saturday, and from 11am to 5pm on a Sunday.
