A new restaurant has been revealed that will take over the former Vito premises in Ayr town centre.

The popular Italian restaurant is permanently closed, but the Burns Statue Square site is to be taken over by Indrya.

ATM Bar and Restaurants Ltd has applied for planning permission from South Ayrshire Council to make alterations to the façade of the building.

Planning documents state: "The proposals include the installation of a new shopfront and signage as well as the replacement of the existing single-glazed aluminium shopfront glazing with double-glazed aluminium units.

Ayr Advertiser:

"The proposals also include the redecoration of the existing painted masonry facade to provide a uniform frontage that will bring the building in line with our client's brand identity which is present at all of their locations across the UK."

Based on their website, Indrya are also soon to open restaurants in Manchester and Essex.

The new eatery is set to include both a sit-in and takeaway element.
