Vehicle restrictions are set to come into force outside a Doon Valley primary school in the next few days.

The School Streets scheme, where vehicles are banned from around schools at key times, will come into effect at Bellsbank Primary in Dalmellington.

Starting on February 26, there will be no vehicles allowed on the following streets from Monday to Friday between 8.40am and 9.05am and between 2.40pm and 3.10pm.

  • Craiglea Crescent between its junction with Merrick Drive and its junction with Dalfarson Drive
  • Bradan Avenue between its junction with Craiglea Crescent and its junction with Ness Glen Road

The restrictions will make changes to the allocated road space, to promote safe walking and cycling space for pupils, parents and staff.

The order will remain in force until August 26 next year, or until the scheme is abandoned or varied before then.

Access for emergency services, bin lorries, carers and doctors will be permitted.

Access for residents is permitted when vehicles are displaying a valid permit.
