The iconic RAF Red Arrows are set to fly over the west coast of Scotland this afternoon - with some Ayrshire residents set to get a glimpse.

The display team are flying back south after spending time in the North of Scotland, and will fly over parts of Argyll, Arran and South Ayrshire on their way home on Thursday.

The planes are expected over Lochgilphead at 3.52pm before heading across to Blackwaterfoot on Arran around five minutes later.

The aircraft should then pass over parts of South Ayrshire on their way to the Penrith area before heading further south.

It'll be their first time in the skies above Ayrshire since the team made a spectacular appearance at the International Ayr Show Festival of Flight in September last year.
