An artist is being sought to carry out enhancements worth £40,000 to Rozelle House in Ayr.

The David Edward Elders Trust (DEET) is seeking an artist or artists to undertake a commission to enhance the reception and stairway in the building.

The trust is looking to incorporate new artwork into the existing stairway, and also create a new reception desk at the base of the stairs.

Both elements must be in keeping with the character of Rozelle House. The venue displays some of the council’s multi-million art collection.

A site visit is recommended prior to applying, and potential artists can view further images and information if required.

The applicant/s could outsource the production of the commission, and installation of the commission must be considered in the proposal.

The commission could reference the park location, history, or use of Rozelle House, and the project has a budget of £40,000.

For more information email fraser.macdonald@south-ayrshire.gov.uk with a written and visual proposal including a timeline of key stages, budget breakdown and examples of previous work.

Further details are available on the Destination South Ayrshire website, with a deadline of Sunday, February 25 for applications.
