Volunteer crew from the Girvan RNLI lifeboat were called out to an 'incident' in Ayr over the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the town around 7pm on Saturday night, with the RNLI craft stood down shortly afterwards.
A Girvan lifeboat spokesperson said: "At 7:19pm, Girvan lifeboat was requested to launch by H.M. Coastguard Martime Operations Centre Belfast to an incident in Ayr in support of Police Scotland & Coastguard Rescue Teams.
"En-route and as nearing Ayr, the lifeboat was stood down as the incident had been resolved.
"Girvan's Shannon class all-weather Lifeboat 'Elizabeth and Gertrude Allan' and her volunteer crew returned to Girvan at 8:45pm where the lifeboat was made ready for the next service call.
"If you see or believe someone to be in trouble at sea or along our coast, dial 999 right away and ask for the Coastguard."
