A major two-week road closure on a busy road in Ayr has been postponed until later this month.

Holmston Road was due to close from Monday, January 22 to Saturday, February 3, but will now close instead from Monday, January 29.

The road will be closed at the Holmston Roundabout between 6pm and 8am each night for resurfacing works, which are scheduled to last two weeks.

The road will be open outwith these times, and emergency service access and access for residents and deliveries will be via a diversion route.

An alternative route will be signed via the A77 Holmston roundabout up to the Whiteltts roundabout, then on to the first exit onto High Road and continue along Main Road and Whitletts Road until the King Street roundabout.

Take the first exit onto A79 John Street and at the roundabout, then the third exit onto the A79 Station Road and continue along until the roundabout, before taking the first exit onto the A70 Holmston Road and return.
