An Ayr man who grabbed a woman's buttocks in a top restaurant in Prestwick has been added to the sex offenders register for the attack.

Kamil Wnek pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault at the TAJ Bar and Kitchen on Main Street on September 2 last year.

Wnek, 35, seized hold of the woman by the body and then pulled her towards him, placing his hands on her buttocks.

When Wnek returned to Ayr Sheriff Court for sentencing last week, Sheriff Desmond Leslie placed the accused under social work supervision for a year as part of a community payback order.

The Clare Avenue resident, who was represented in court by defence solicitor Robert Campbell, was also placed on the sex offenders register for the same length of time.

As a result he will be required to notify police of any changes in his circumstances until July 2025.
