A KLM flight was forced to divert from Edinburgh to Prestwick Airport at short notice this morning.
The flight from Amsterdam was set to touch down in the capital, and reached 4,000 feet before climbing and diverting to the South Ayrshire coast.
KLM1279, an Embraer E195-E2, continued past Edinburgh Airport, flew over Falkirk and Glasgow, and eventually landed at Prestwick from the west just after midday.
A Prestwick Airport spokesperson said: "We received a divert request from a KLM Cityhopper passenger plane just before midday. It landed and all passengers disembarked."
A flight on the same aircraft from Amsterdam to Edinburgh set for Wednesday has been cancelled.
