One of Scotland's biggest Elvis Presley fan clubs is set to return to Ayrshire in January for what would have been the singer's 89th birthday.

The Elvis Touch will be holding its 29th annual bash at the Adamton Country House Hotel in Monkton on the weekend of January 12 and 13.

The club has previously held its annual celebrations at Prestwick Airport, where Elvis landed in March 1960 - the only time 'The King' ever set foot on UK soil.

During his two-hour stopover, on his way home from national service with the US Army, Elvis visited the hotel to visit American troops stationed there - and is said to have called his beau, Priscilla Ann Wagner, from the hotel bar, with a plaque later presented to the hotel marking the occasion.

As well as marking 89 years since Elvis's birth in Tupelo, Mississippi, the event will also mark The Elvis Touch's 60th anniversary.

The Friday night will feature live entertainment from Plymouth 57, with The Best Band Influence performing on Saturday afternoon.

There will be a range of stalls selling vintage records, jewellery, greetings cards and much more.

The evening entertainment will be provided by Darrel Higham & The Enforcers, followed by an all Elvis dance provided by DJs Paul Downie & David Brown.
