Pupils from Marr College visited the Scottish Parliament where they sat in on the last First Minister’s Question Time of 2008. Local MSP John Scott met up with the students during their visit, giving them a tour of the Parliament.

A Ballantrae boy scooped a national photography competition in 2008 which aimed to inspire fellow asthmatic children. Conor Robertson, 12, was pictured playing the bagpipes on top of Carlock Hill by his grandfather.

Hundreds of people flocked to Prestwick’s shore for the annual Boxing Day Dip. The event was a huge fundraiser for cancer charity Clic Sargent.
