A BUSY road in South Ayrshire has been closed following an accident.
Police Scotland say the A714 Girvan-Newton Stewart road is currently shut between Girvan and Pinmore.
Full details of the incident have yet to be revealed, but police have urged drivers to use an alternative route for now.
They reported on X (formerly Twitter) at 10.30am today: "The A714 is closed between the Shallochpark Roundabout and Pinmore following a crash.
"Officers were called around 10am and are at the scene.
"Drivers are urged to use an alternative route."
The shortest alternative route, of 14 miles, is the B734 via Old Dailly and Barr.
