POLICE Scotland have confirmed that part of the A77 road near has been closed following a crash.
The busy commuter road has been closed southbound between the Dutchhouse and Sandyford Toll roundabouts around the Monkton area.
No timescale has been given at this time for when the road will re-open.
No further details of the incident have been given at this time however police, fire and ambulance crews are all understood to be in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A77 is currently closed southbound between the Dutchhouse and Sandyford roundabouts due to a crash.
"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes at this time."
