Staff, mothers, children and helpers from Domino Nursery in Prestwick celebrated receiving an award from the National Lottery in December 2003.

Councillor Hugh Hunter presented the £5,000 grant to Veronica Morrison, secretary of the nursery, based in Prestwick Community Centre.

Ayr schoolboy Andrew Merry, 12,  enjoyed his live radio debut in 2003 when he sang on the afternoon show hosted by Clyde 1 DJ Suzie McGuire.

Kyle Academy pupil Andrew had already raised thousands of pounds for Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick by singing for his supper at their charity ball and producing a special fundraising CD.

These Doonfoot Primary pupils joined hundreds of South Ayrshire schoolkids who sold cakes, crafts and Christmas gifts at the annual Enterprise Fair in Ayr’s Citadel in 2003.
