Four Ayrshire businesses are in the running to take home top prizes at the Scottish Thistle Awards on Friday night. 

Restaurants, pubs, hotels, and self-catering accommodation across the region are shortlisted at the national awards.

The awards will take place at a ceremony at the Hilton in Glasgow on Friday, December 1. 

The Brae, in Dreghorn, is competing against four other establishments in the 'Best Bar or Pub' category on the night. 

The popular pub is up against competition from Aberdeen, Selkirk, Inverness, and Roslin. 

Lamlash House, in Newmilns, is hoping to be crowned the winner in the 'Best Eating Experience' category. 

The village eatery will compete with businesses from North Berwick, Aberdeen, Berwickshire, and Edinbane.

The 'Best Hotel Experience' category will be contested by the well-known Auchrannie Resort on the Isle of Arran. 

The hotel will face stiff competition from big names in the businesses, including Andy Murray's Cromlix in Dunblane. 

Finally, Millport business Jack's Alt-Stays will hope to emerge victorious in the 'Best Self-Catering Accommodation Experience' category. 

The two cousins from Largs will go up against businesses from Dumfries, Huntly, Cupar, and Moray.
