A GLENBURN Primary pupil will switch on Prestwick's Christmas lights this weekend.
South Ayrshire Provost, Iain Campbell, recently visited the school to congratulate the winner of a Christmas poster competition organised by PRESTmas - the town's all-new Christmas celebration weekend.
PRESTmas takes place on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 in Boydfield Gardens.
The event will be hosted by West FM’s DJ Michael, from the Ali and Michael in the Morning show.
Both days of PRESTmas events run from 12 noon until 5.30pm, with Farrell set to throw the switch to turn on the lights themselves at 5pm on Sunday.

The two-day extravaganza is set to be filled with entertainment such as street performers, music bands, choirs, acoustic performances, face painters, clowns, seasonal stalls, and an array of delicious hot food options as well as a funfair.
Glenburn PS P6 pupil, Farrell Burns, won the competition.
Pupils from Glenburn Primary, St Ninian's Primary and Heathfield Primary all took part, and runners up were awarded with selection boxes.
