Ayr Music Club has celebrated its latest concert featuring guest artists the world famous Tim Kliphuis Trio.

The latest recital in Ayr Music Club's concert series, Music in Ayr, took place in front of a large audience on the evening of Saturday, November 18.

The group of accomplished musicians is influenced by jazz and folk music as well as by the Classical genre.

A report said: "Their programme comprised innovative and highly original versions of the music of J.S. Bach, Vivaldi and Mussorgsky along with compositions by Hoagy Carmichael and Tim Kliphuis himself.

"The audience was especially captivated by the exciting improvisation by all three musicians and by the variety of techniques employed by them.

"Contemporary guitar techniques complemented entertaining 'slap' bass and 'banjo-style' violin playing to produce the jaw-dropping virtuosity for which the group is renowned."

The next Music in Ayr recital will be on Saturday, December 2 in Alloway Church Hall, when the guest artistes will be The Antonine Trio (Baritone, French Horn and Piano).
