South Ayrshire Council has released several photos showing the damaged insides of Ayr Station Hotel.

The landmark building was damaged in an alleged case of wilful fire-raising on September 25.

Three teens were arrested in connection with the incident.

The photos were released by the council at an event which also confirmed the closure of the roads and rail services surrounding the hotel.

The council also confirmed that all or part of the building may need to be demolished.

Ayr MSP Siobhian Brown met with many of the businesses affected by the fire including Nanny Mary’s and The Honeybee and the Hare café to discuss the issues they are facing.

They expressed concern that updates they had received from the local authority had been via Facebook.

On Friday, November 10, Ms Brown again visited Smith Street operators alongside SNP councillors Julie Dettbarn and George Weir, to discuss further ways in which help could be accessed.
