A local home care company has won two prestigious awards at the British Recruitment Awards.

Home Instead South Ayrshire and Kilmarnock's efforts to recruit care professionals and meet the growing demand for home care received national recognition at the ceremony.

The company won the "In-House Recruitment Team of the Year" award, and their group recruitment and retention manager, Fiona Lauder, won "Leader of the Year".

The British Recruitment Awards acknowledge excellence in recruitment and retention across various sectors, and this year, more than 225 entries were submitted from organisations throughout the UK.

Facing recruitment challenges imposed by the pandemic, Home Instead responded to counter the shortage of care professionals.

Their innovative recruitment campaign received great recognition as they not only highlighted care as a rewarding career, but also addressed the misconceptions surrounding financial stability.

Under the leadership of Fiona Lauder, the company bolstered its internal recruitment team from three to seven members.

This expansion generated results, with a 62 per cent surge in applications and a substantial 36 per cent reduction in employee turnover.
