South Ayrshire Council has issued an update on the Ayr Station Hotel.
Firefighters were called to a major blaze at the hotel on the evening of September 25 - and remained on scene for several days until the building could be made safe.
Train services remain suspended between Ayr and Prestwick following the fire.
And there has been another update from the Council, who issued a photo revealing the top of the encapsulation completely removed.
A statement said: "As you can see in this photo, the top of the encapsulation has now been fully removed. This will allow the contractor to progress with works inside the building.

"Station Bridge Road remains closed to pedestrians and traffic.
"The closure will be in place until the safety works have been completed at the southern gable end of the building.
"We expect that the bridge will reopen around Wednesday 10 January, timescales are being kept under constant review.
"There are many factors which can affect the safety work, including the weather.
"We’ll continue to keep you updated with more information as soon as it becomes available.
