A diamond Ayr couple have recently celebrated a very special anniversary.
James (Jim) and Gloria Aitken celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Jim and Gloria, both originally from Stranraer, met and married in their hometown.
After 60 years of marriage, they now have two children and three grandchildren.
Jim was a dairyman, and the family lived on farms in Cumnock and Ochiltree before moving to a farm near Ayr in 1990, where they lived until moving into Ayr on Jim’s retirement in 2009.
South Ayrshire Council depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick congratulated the couple on their anniversary and presented them with a bouquet of flowers.
