Details have been revealed of what is happening this Sunday at The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight.

Excitement is building as Ayr gets ready for the event this weekend. 

The festival begins at 4pm on Friday, September 8 when the festival village officially opens.

And South Ayrshire Council has now confirmed details of entertainment and activities provided on Sunday, September 10.

The day will start on the Low Green and Ayr beach from noon on Sunday for some activities and sports both in and out of the water.

Make a splash with the water games, coasteering and coastal edging, or take part in the beach assault course and pop-up beach sports. 

South Ayrshire Council is also offering the opportunity for festival goers to meander around the festival village and visit the range of stalls, a classic car exhibition, extreme sports display and the food and drink pop-ups.

Visitors can also get up to speed with all things STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the dedicated marquee – The Sky Way as well as visiting the interactive creative zone.

Parking is half price on Sunday, with motorists able to park up for the whole day for £5.  Book in advance at www.ayrshow.co.uk.

South Ayrshire Council’s director of strategic change and communities, Jane Bradley, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Ayr for the air show festival this weekend. 

"The fun won’t end when the planes stop flying on Saturday – we’ve got even more great activities and entertainment planned for Sunday, September 10. So, make sure you stick around in Ayr to make the most the free attractions.”  

The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight will be at Ayr shore front from Friday, September 8 to Sunday, September 10.
