Parkinson's UK Scotland: Sinclairston cousins' charity walk

Kenny Sturgeon and James McClymont are building up to a massive 28-mile expedition on Saturday, August 26.

The cousins are to walk from Kenny’s home in Sinclairston, through the Ayrshire countryside, to Girvan, where James lives, in memory of their late uncle Mitchell Allan, who had Parkinson’s.

James and Kenny are both active, but have been putting in hours of training over the last couple of weeks in order to get ready.

Kenny said: “We had been thinking about doing something for charity for a while, but we were unsure about a cause to support.

"Then when our uncle, who was in Girvan, passed away earlier this year, after living with Parkinson’s, we decided that was a good one to back and that the family would be right behind us.

“We set out to raise £500 initially, but we hit that target really quickly.

"So we made a new target of £1,000 and have just hit that now, which is amazing.

"We’re now keen to raise as much as we can and all the well-wishes, sponsors, donations, messages, shares and likes we have received are also very much appreciated.”
