Two girls, both aged 15, have been charged in connection with an alleged assault in Prestwick last week.
The incident left a 47-year-old woman with 'severe injuries'.
Police say the alleged assault happened at around 8pm on Saturday, July 29 on the town's Main Street.
A report will be sent to the Scottish Children’s Reporter and Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Reassurance patrols shall continue this weekend across known hotspots within South Ayrshire to identify anyone involved in anti-social behaviour."
