Ayr United have continued their summer spending spree with a new player.

The Honest Men yesterday (July 24) confirmed the signing of Ahkeem Rose on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old Jamaican born forward joins from English Tier 6 side Weymouth after two years at the club.

Ahkeem told Ayr United TV: "I've been following the Scottish League from Dipo (Akinyemi), then I spoke to Graeme and the gaffer and they couldn't make me feel more welcome.

"It was an easy decision."

"I love to win, I'm a sore loser. I won't speak to anyone if I lose," Ahkem joked, "I like to have a bit of banter.

"But I'm definitely serious when it comes to games. You have to be when you cross that white line, it's you versus the opponent, so I've definitely got a game face on when it's time to get serious."

An Ayr United social media statement said: "The club are delighted to announce the signing of striker, Ahkeem Rose on a two-year deal!

"A free agent following his departure from Weymouth FC, he now makes the switch to Somerset Park.

"Welcome, Ahkeem!"
