Ayr United have continued their busy summer transfer window by making a statement of intent with their latest signing.

The Honest Men confirmed that Jamie Murphy will join the club on a two-year deal following his release from Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone.

Jamie has a wealth of experience both in Scotland and England as well as international football.

The 33-year-old winger's previous clubs include Motherwell, Sheffield United, Brighton, Rangers, Hibs, Burton and most recently St Johnstone, where he made 24 appearances last season scoring three goals.

Jamie also made two appearances for the Scottish national side in 2018.

Confirming the news over social media, an Ayr United spokesperson said: "Ayr United are delighted to announce the signing of Jamie Murphy on a 2-year deal!

"Jamie joins the Honest Men following the expiry of his contract at St Johnstone."

Jamie's signing follows other transfer news which sees two youth players from Largs side Ardgown Thistle, Owen Davidson and Junior Johansson, sign up to Ayr's Youth Academy to continue their footballing journey.
