A TEENAGE girl from Ayr who hurled abuse at police after being caught with drugs in her handbag in a car park has been put on an electronic tag.

Aleisha White, 18, was found with cannabis in Glasgow city centre on July 22, 2022.

The city's Sheriff Court heard that police were alerted to three women in an NCP car park.

White was found with two others and there was a "strong smell of cannabis emanating."

The women were told that they would be subjected to a search.

White replied: "It's mine, I will show you where it is."

She then produced a small clear plastic bag from the strap on her handbag.

A further check on White found that she was not supposed to be in the city centre as a result of a separate matter.

The court earlier heard that White had been arrested in the city centre on June 3, 2022.

Officers had reason to approach her and White became irate, shouting at them.

She was taken into custody where she became "belligerent" and continued to shout at officers.

White stated to an officer: "She is not f***ing searching me, get someone else, she is not f***ing touching me."

White went on to behave aggressively towards the officer.

She then said: "F*** off, get away from me, you are not f***ing touching me."

White pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and possession of cannabis.

She also admitted breaching a condition of an undertaking.

Sheriff Patricia Pryce put White on a tag for nine weeks, keeping her indoors between 7pm and 7am.
