A new and improved supermarket is on its way to Maybole.

Supermarket chain Co-op is set to serve-up a new, improved and larger store this week - Friday, June 9 - to serve and support Maybole's community.

The new 5,000 sq ft store is more than 2,000 sq ft larger than the retailer’s existing store in the town, which is relocating to the new Kirkoswald Road location.

Supporting 20 local jobs, and opening between 6am-10pm daily, the new store includes customer car parking; a free ATM to provide access to cash in the community, in-store bakery, hot food and, a Costa coffee dispenser.

Amazon Lockers will also be available for convenient parcel collection.

Jonathan Kirkland, Co-op store manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store, and the team is really looking forward to welcoming the community into their new and improved Co-op.

"Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve the community, conveniently.”

A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

This means that all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or its in-store soft plastic recycling unit.
