NHS Ayrshire & Arran will be offering coronavirus vaccinations on a drop-in basis at community venues around Ayrshire from today, Monday 5 June 2023.

The following groups are eligible to attend the drop-in opportunities:

People due a spring booster vaccine, including over 75s and those with a weakened immune system who are aged 12 years and over; and people who are aged 12 to 49 years who are not at higher risk of severe coronavirus illness and are yet to complete their course for COVID-19 vaccines, doses one and two.

For those aged five to 11 years who are eligible through the spring booster programme, an appointment to attend is still required and cannot drop-in.

Appointments should be booked by calling the national helpline on 0800 0303 8013.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Public Health Director Lynne McNiven said: “Our vaccination teams are delighted to welcome patients back to COVID-19 vaccine clinics on a drop-in basis.

"If you are due either a spring booster dose to top up your protection, or you are aged 5 to 49 years and did not complete your original course, now is the time to come forward.

"The offer of a first and second dose for people under 50 who are not at higher risk of severe coronavirus ends in Scotland on 30 June 2023.

"Vaccination remains our best protection against serious coronavirus illness, so I’d encourage everyone to take the vaccines they are offered.

“If you’d prefer to make an appointment you can do so either by using the national online booking portal https://vacs.nhs.scot/csp or by calling the helpline on 0800 030 8013 to arrange.”
