AYRSHIRE charity No one Dies Alone has been shortlisted to receive a share of £25,000 thanks to Scotmid's Community Connect award scheme.
As one of three finalists, they will receive either £15,000 or £5,000 from the co-operative group.
The awards will be announced this October, following a vote by Scotmid Members.
No One Dies Alone (NODA), is an Ayrshire based charity formed of volunteer companions who give their time, compassion and a listening ear to people in their final hours to ensure that no one is left feeling alone, isolated or fearful.
The charity also provides training and practical care items to those in need as well as bereavement support to families.
Linda McCurrach, NODA founder, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be nominated. Any help that we receive will go a long way for our small organisation.
"This will undoubtedly mean we can reach more people who need our services.”
The other good causes shortlisted in the West are People’s Pantry in Coatbridge and Glasgow’s Golden Generation.
