A POPULAR jewellery store in Ayr has closed - with customers facing a round trip of nearly 60 miles to its new home.
Ernest Jones, in Ayr Central shopping centre, shut its doors for good over the weekend and move to Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow.

The move has come as a shock to the town.
A sign on the front of the shop said: “We’re moving to a new location.
“This store has now closed.

“In the meantime we’ll continue to help celebrate your story with the pieces that matter to you at your nearest store below: Ernest Jones Glasgow Silverburn, Unit 3 Silverburn Centre, 763 Barrhead Road, Glasgow, G53 6QR.
“We look forward to welcoming you at our new location very soon.”
