PEOPLE living in South Ayrshire are being urged to put forward the name of a volunteer they think is worthy of being recognised for their efforts in the community.
The South Ayrshire Volunteer Awards, which celebrate the hard work of local volunteers, will be held on June 1 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm in Ayr Town Hall.

Award categories include bronze (1-5 years of volunteering), silver (5-10 years), gold (10-15 years), and 'lifetime' (15+ years of volunteering).
There's also a 'special recognition' category where nominations are sought for those exceptional volunteers whose work spans many years.
Nominations for Community Champions are also being sought, for those people who have gone above and beyond for the whole community.

If you know of someone who you think deserves to be considered for an award, you have to put their name forward by Sunday, April 30 at the latest.

These can be completed either electronically or paper copies can be sent out.
