BIKERS from across Ayrshire and beyond roared into Ayr on Saturday to give their backing to a good cause – and to have a full day of family fun at the same time.

Harley’s in the High Street played host to its second annual Rock The Nile music festival on April 8 to raise cash for the Crohn’s and Colitis UK charity.

The day’s line-up included no fewer than 10 live bands – Christie Oliver, the Midlife Blues Band, The Splinters, Escapade, Cranked To 11, Closer, Rumblefish, The Apollo, Pelikan Rogue and Black Lead 40 – with DJ sets taking the Easter weekend entertainment all the way through to 3.30am.

Biking participants enjoyed a morning ‘run out’ around the area before showing off their lovingly-prepared machines in Nile Court for the rest of the day.

With outside stalls and an inside stage, topped off by one of Ayr’s best beer gardens and the added bonus of a sprinkling of warming spring sunshine, it was no surprise that the day struck the right note with all the participants.
