A musician who is Scotland's sole representative at an international tournament is hosting a concert to raise funds for his trip.
Trombonist Joshua Parkhill, from Ayr, is the only representative from Scotland in the semi-final of the 2023 European Soloist Competition.
Joshua, who lives in Ayr, started playing brass when he was four years old through the Salvation Army learners’ programme.

In order to raise funds for his trip Malmo where the competition is being held, Joshua will be hosting concert in St Andrews Church, Ayr on April 16 at 3pm which will feature some of the music he will be playing in Sweden.
Joshua also has a gofundme page to help with the costs of travel and accomodation throughout the competition.
Entry fee for Joshua's concert at St Andrews Church will be entirely by donation.
