A man was taken to hospital after crashing into an unmarked police car yesterday afternoon.
The driver of a black Peugeot 308 collided into the back of the stationary police car on the A77 southbound, just before 2pm on Monday, April 3.
The extent of the man's injuries are not yet known.
Police did confirm that their officers were not in the car at the time of the crash and they were not hurt.
The A77 was closed for around six hours following the incident and the southbound carriageway reopened at 8.10pm last night.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.40pm on Monday, April 3, 2023, a vehicle on the A77 at the Bellfield Interchange collided into the back of a stationary unmarked police car.

"The male driver of the car, a black Peugeot 308 has been taken to hospital.
"The officers from the police car, who were not in the car at the time, were not injured. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened."
