A 37-strong group of local volunteers were among prize-winners representing South Ayrshire at the prestigious Scottish First Aid Awards ceremony

The annual event was held in Glasgow on Friday, March 31.

The charity’s own Ayr and Troon Company scooped gold at the gala, taking home the award for St Andrew’s First Aid Volunteer Corps Company of the Year.

The group’s volunteers are essential to the running of several key calendar events and fixtures, including football matches and race days at Ayr Racecourse.

The accolade recognises the outstanding achievements of St Andrew’s First Aid Volunteer Corps Companies across the country, with the Ayr and Troon contingent group providing the most volunteer hours (90+ per person) throughout 2022.
