A MAYBOLE man who recorded a woman having sex with him without her consent has been jailed after he threatened to send images to her family.
Barry McIlroy, 42, appeared from custody after pleading guilty to filming the woman having sexual intercourse before threatening to show the footage of the private act to her family.
Mr McIlroy, whose address was listed as HMP Barlinnie, recorded the woman in the private act without her consent between April 1 and May 10 last year at an address in Maybole.
He admitted then threatening to publish the video online and to send it on to other members of her family.
He also admitted threatening messages and using her bank details without her consent last May at the Woodland Bay Hotel, Girvan and the Horizon Hotel in Ayr.
He also wrote to her from HMP Bowhouse asking her to contact him, and to disengage with court proceedings to pervert the course of justice, between May 16 and May 20 last year.
Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart sentenced McIlroy to two years in custody, backdated to when he was first remanded.
He was also handed a non harassment order.
