Singer and Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowell has been announced as Ayrshire Cancer Support’s newest ambassador.

In his role as an ambassador, Jai will be supporting the charity’s fundraisers and raise awareness of the work the charity does and the support they offer.

The Tarbolton born musician has a personal connection to the charity after losing a loved one to cancer and is proud to be able to help others affected by the disease.

Jai said: "It is my absolute honour to become a patron of Ayrshire Cancer Support, I have worked with them in the past and can’t wait to continue to do so as a patron.

“Like many other Ayrshire weans, I have lost a loved one to cancer and know just how much impact it can have not just on the person with cancer but to their surrounding family and friends.

“This is why charities like Ayrshire Cancer Support are vital to helping support the people of Ayrshire when they need it most."

The charity provides many services for people who have been diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones such as counselling, a drop in centre, free hospital transport, support groups, money advice, and a children and young people support line.

They also have a helpline on 0800 2545580 for anyone needing to chat about their own or a loved one’s diagnosis.
