THE signal fault which caused cancellations on rail services between Ayr and Irvine has now been fixed.
An earlier announcement from the rail service confirmed that bus services would be in place between Ayr and Irvine while staff fix the problem.
ScotRail confirmed that services will now return to normal after staff carried out further investigations and fixed the issue.
UPDATE: The fault has been fixed and services are returning to normal.
