South Ayrshire leaders are promoting an employment event in Maybole next month to coincide with Scottish Apprenticeship Week.

Elena Whitham MSP and Allan Dorans MP are to hold an employment fair in the Carrick Centre in Maybole on Monday, March 6 from 12pm to 2pm.

There will be a number of businesses and organisations from across Ayrshire and beyond who will be represented, advising of jobs, training and apprenticeship opportunities they currently have.

Whilst this event is taking place during Scottish Apprenticeship Week, there will be opportunities for all ages seeking employment and training.

Ayr Advertiser:

Elena Whitham MSP said: “Based on the successes of the first employment fair I held in Cumnock to coincide with Scottish Apprenticeship Week last year, it was really important for me to hold another event during the 2023 campaign week in a different part of the constituency.

“It really is a great opportunity for businesses, charities and organisations to come together with apprenticeships, training and job opportunities on offer and for pupils from the local academy to come along and learn how best they may unlock their potential – and of course anyone of any age looking for training or jobs is welcome to come along too.

“I am really looking forward to hosting another employment fair, this time in conjunction with my colleague Allan Dorans MP and I look forward to seeing folks there.”

Allan Dorans MP said: “I am delighted to support and take part in this latest Jobs Fair. It provides a great opportunity for employers seeking potential recruits, including importantly apprenticeships, to meet with those seeking employment and training in a wide range of industries and sectors.

"I continue to work with my colleague Elena Whitham MSP to facilitate engagement of employers and potential employees for the benefit of both.”
