Ayrshire Hospice’s Ladies Who Lunch will be hosting their second event of 2023 as they encourage new members to join.

Taking place at the Seamill Hydro Hotel on Thursday February 9 with tickets costing £22, the two-course lunch will be served at 1pm with the venue’s doors opening for registration at 12pm.

Each lunch features a speaker and this month Ayrshire Hospice’s Assistant Fundraising Manager Graham Strawhorn will tell the story of his annual treks for the Hospice.

Committee member, Jan Hall, said: “The committee would like to extend a very big thank you to all who joined us at our January lunch which was very well attended.

“The positive feedback on the warm welcome and lovely atmosphere within the room was appreciated.

“Our lunch and speaker were also well received.

“Thank you to everyone for supporting our Ayrshire Hospice Ladies Who Lunch fundraising event.

“We look forward to welcoming you all on the 9th.”

On the menu for the next lunch is roast gigot of lamb with leek and nutmeg pomme puree, braised carrots and thyme scented red wine jus, and a meringue nest with mixed berries, chocolate shavings and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

January’s lunch proved to be a great start to the year as the group welcomed many new members and fresh faces.

Chairperson for the group, Maureen Muir, said: “The Ladies Lunch has been running once a month now for 5 years.

“Many of our members have been attending regularly for some time but we are always delighted to welcome new faces!”

If you would like to become a group member, you will be required to pay a fee of £10 per year on top of the £20 per month for each lunch.

Lunches are held monthly from September through June with March’s planned for Thursday 9th.

Money raised from each lunch and from membership fees will go towards the hospice.
