A SOUTH Ayrshire based charity which provides a respite service for carers has received high praise and compliments from the Care Inspectorate.
Crossroads South Ayrshire scored five out of six under each category assessed by the Care Inspectorate on their surprise visit, highlighting the care service's quality of service and "superior ability" to meet the needs of carers in South Ayrshire.
Crossroads, which is based in the Prestwick area, has been providing a respite service for carers in South Ayrshire for nearly 40 years, and supported 175 carers in 2022 through the stress and pressure of care.

A Crossroads spokesperson said: "We know too that the need for our service is going to continue to grow.
"With an aging population and a growing need for communities to contribute more to looking after their loved ones, this is inevitable.
