SCOTTISH Archery are raising funds for their future archers with a long trip to the barbers.
In support of the Scottish Archery U21 Pathway Academy - Scottish Archery's programme to support young athletes in progressing to GB teams - Ayr Archery Club President Ged Laing became the first volunteer in their ‘Go Bald for Gold’ initiative.
As a keen and vocal supporter of youth archery at both club and national level, Ged decided to generously donate his ‘Santa locks and beard’ in return for over £1000 in community funding raised so far.
And the team caught the scenes on camera:
Other members of the archery community will follow in Ged’s footsteps as more is raised.
Ged’s head shaving was completed by Rhona Lopez, fellow Ayr archer, Scottish Commonwealth Archery Championships Europe (CACE) team member and Senior Stylist at Rainbow Rooms International salon in Ayr.
