HEALTH chiefs are inviting Doon Valley residents to make the most of a new facility helping people to manage their own health better.

The Dalmellington Community Health Hub is a place where people can meet, chat, and receive support on everything from weight management, diabetic eye screening and stopping smoking, to financial and housing energy advice.

Based at the Dalmellington Community Centre and running every Wednesday between 9am and 5pm, the hub aims to help people better manage their physical, social and financial health.

Lynne McNiven, public health director for NHS Ayrshire and Arran, said: “The Dalmellington Community Health Hub is a friendly, warm space where the local community can come along and find out more about the services that can enable them to improve their health and wellbeing.

At the hub, visitors can grab a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat to representatives from the services which attend each week to offer valuable support and advice.

Visitors will also be able to meet others facing similar needs and challenges and share your experiences.

The health hub is a drop-in service where all people are welcome and no appointment is necessary.

There are also appointment-only services available at the hub, including diabetic eye screening and community treatment and care (CTAC).

These appointments are pre-booked by specialist teams for people with chronic conditions.
