A TROON school has celebrated a very special anniversary.
Thursday, October 27, saw St Patrick’s Primary pupils and staff celebrate the school's 25 years in its current building - though the school itself has served the town, parish and community since 1886, with many generations of families attending St Patrick’s throughout the decades.
There was a school Mass held in Our Lady of the Assumption & St Meddan in the morning followed by teas and a photographic exhibition back at the school.
Tricia McFadyen, the school's acting head teacher, was thrilled to welcome so many past pupils, parents and families into the school to share their fond memories of their time within the school community.
The celebrations were also visited by Rory McIntyre, who was in the very first P1 class 25 years ago, along with David Christie, who as a then councillor in Troon opened the school back in 1997.
