Leading retail and leisure destination Silverburn has announced a full line-up of festive fun for visitors to enjoy while completing their Christmas shopping this year. The celebrations have already kicked off, with viral sensation buskers Simon Sims and Gary Lynas taking to Silverburn’s very own ‘Busk Stop’ to raise the spirits of passers-by with a good singsong. This is only the beginning of the impressive roster of performers who will be busking within Silverburn throughout the festive period. A proportion of the buskers' earnings throughout the month of November will kindly be donated by performers to Silverburn Cares - Silverburn’s community fund. Entertainment continues into December with roaming performers, including reindeer and Jack Frost and his Snow Fairies, joining the ranks of traditional brass bands and choirs.

Face painters and balloon animal artists will also be in attendance throughout the month of December, free of charge. A very special guest, Santa Claus, will be taking residence at Silverburn from December 1 until Christmas Eve. Children can reveal their Christmas lists and wishes before Santa takes the reins of his sleigh for his busiest night of the year. The meet and greet with photo opportunities is free for families, with a suggested £3 donation to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Community and giving back will remain a key focus of the centre this Christmas, with a gift-wrapping station throughout December and a giving tree where shoppers can donate a present to a local child, all in aid of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. David Pierotti, general manager at Silverburn, said: “We want to give our visitors reasons to be cheerful. Whether that be meeting with Santa Claus himself or enjoying one of our talented musical acts or performers while they shop. “After the events of the last few years, everyone deserves an opportunity to celebrate what we do have - family, friends and a strong and supportive community. “We are more than a shopping centre - we are a destination for the community to come together and feel festive at this time of year - and we look forward to spreading joy to our visitors over the winter months.” To find out more about Silverburn’s festivities and access their Christmas opening hours, visit www.shopsilverburn.com/christmas-at-silverburn.
