THE closure of an iconic Ayr chippy has seen it bought over by the Blue Lagoon franchise.
Wellington Fish Restaurant held its last day of service on Sunday, October 23, after 54 years of hard work.
Owner's Roberto and Antonio thanked its customers and suppliers over social media for their decades of support.

They handed the keys over to chippy franchise Blue Lagoon, who hold many fish and chip shops up and down the country.
The new owners also confirmed that they will be revamping the new Sandgate store and hiring 15 employees.
The new Blue lagoon will be open from December 1.
