A WOMAN has been given a slap on the wrist for striking her ex-boyfriend after barging into a property near Turnberry and smashing a lamp.

Maegan Hutchison, 33, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour at Highpark, Turnberry after turning up and refusing to leave when asked – with the charge aggravated by involving abuse to a partner or ex partner.

The procurator fiscal depute told Ayr Sheriff Court on September 15: “The witness and accused were in a relationship, On the evening of August 13, she attended the locus, parking her car across the driveway.

“He called the police. The vehicle was removed and she was warned not to return.

“At 10.30pm the same evening, the accused attended the entrance of the home uninvited and began screaming, shouting and struck his head repeatedly.

“She was asked to leave and struck a lamp."

Her defence solicitor said: “She is 33, single, and presently unemployed.

“The complainer was sent a text and didn’t reply quickly enough . Effectively she attended to confirm an explanation.

“She effectively completely lost her temper.”

When Hutchison appeared in court for sentencing last week, Sheriff Desmond Leslie told her she would be admonished.

He said: “It’s unfortunate it got to that stage.

“I will take no further action as you have learned how not to act.”
