AYRSHIRE Cancer Support's annual ball raised more than £70,000 for the fight against cancer on a glitzy night at Ayr racecourse.

Guests on the night were transported to the most famous Parisian cabaret, Moulin Rouge, where they enjoyed "an evening of glitz, grandeur and glory", according to event organisers.

A staggering £70,263 was raised, with local businesswoman, Jacqueline Miller of Donald Ross Residential, speaking about her own cancer journey.

Robbie Duncan hosted the evening, Alex Fleming auctioneer, with Infinity Allstar Dancers, Snookie Mono and Waterfront the entertainment.

Sandra McCall, CEO at Ayrshire Cancer Support, said: “Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who attended and made the night the great success it was.
